Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about restoration, salvation, priesthood, participation, ancestry, sacramental life and safeguarding.

Does restoration replace salvation?

No. Restoration Theology understands salvation as God's gracious work of forgiveness, liberation, healing, reconciliation and renewed communion. Restoration describes the fullness toward which that grace moves human life and creation.

What does “Restored to Restore” mean?

It means grace becomes vocation. Those reconciled to God are entrusted with reconciliation; those healed are called to become agents of healing according to their gifts and capacity.

What is participation in divine life?

Growth into God's likeness by grace. It does not mean that human beings become God by essence or cease to be creatures.

Why call it a priesthood?

Exodus 19 and 1 Peter 2 speak of God's people in priestly terms. The movement uses “priesthood” for a vocation of witness, holiness, service and repair. It does not claim that membership confers sacramental ordination.

What place do the Cross and sacraments have?

The movement's emblem is the Key of Restoration, not a cross. Theologically, however, the Cross and Resurrection remain within the Paschal mystery of Christ. Sacramental life is approached with reverence as a historic means of grace and communion; the movement does not claim authority to replace the sacramental ministries of apostolic churches.

What about ancestry?

Ancestry, language and culture may be honoured and restored, but lineage is not the measure of divine worth. The image of God is deeper than bloodline.

Does restitution earn forgiveness?

No. Restitution is fruit of repentance and responsibility, not payment for grace.

Must victims reconcile with offenders?

No. Reconciliation cannot be coerced. Safety, justice, boundaries, silence, reporting and distance may be necessary.

Is this an alternative church?

The movement's purpose is restorative formation and vocation. It does not claim to replace the sacramental and canonical life of churches.

What does the Key of Restoration mean?

The key represents opening, stewardship, recovery and restoration; the flame represents awakening and divine presence; the circle represents wholeness. The emblem is a teaching symbol, not a talisman.
