Priesthood of Restoration

Restored to Restore

Grace restores humanity to communion and vocation; the restored become participants in restoration.

Restored to Restore

Grace restores humanity to communion and vocation; the restored become participants in restoration.

The movement's central phrase is not a claim that human beings save themselves. God is the source of grace and restoration. The phrase names what follows: the person restored to God is entrusted with a restorative vocation.

Second Corinthians 5:18–20 moves from reconciliation received to the ministry of reconciliation. Ephesians 2:8–10 holds together grace and good works. Isaiah 58 joins worship to repair. The movement therefore asks not only, “What have I received?” but also, “What has grace formed me to become?”

Restoration is participation

Healing the sick, teaching truthfully, repairing relationships, making restitution, protecting creation, building just institutions and serving neighbours do not replace the work of God. They are possible expressions of faithful participation within it.

Restored in Christ. Transformed into His likeness. Sent to restore.
